Emergency Committee Grateful for Help at Fire

To the Editor of Town Topics:

As Chairperson of the Emergency Committee of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Tzovolos Family of the Athenian Restaurant; Joe Bendas of Wawa on University Place and the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Princeton Engine Company Number One.

All of these individuals were very instrumental in aiding us to lend support to our husbands, brothers, family members and “brother firefighters” from surrounding fire companies (Slackwood, Lawrenceville, Princeton Junction, Kingston, Montgomery; I hope I’ve left no one out).

This supports was lent to us in helping to serve coffee and donuts during the catastrophic fire loss of businesses and buildings (Thomas Sweet, Wadsworth’s Bakery, Zorba’s Grill and the American Diner). It is a nice feeling to know that volunteerism and comradery still stand strong in the Princeton Community, an area which is growing so fast.

Our sincere thanks to all involved; and our sincere condolences to those who suffered a loss during this tragic fire.
