Car Bursts Into Flames After Striking a Deer

A 1984 Honda proved to be no match for a deer and a subsequent fire last week.

Early last week as 28-year old George L. Wirtz 3d of Lawrenceville was driving in the afternoon on Rosedale Lane, a large deer ran out in front of his car. Mr Writze was unable to stop and the deer, the entire hood and engine area of his car caught fire.

Ptl. James Strong, Ptl. Robert Buchanan and one fire truck and five firemen responded to a 3:36 call for aid and put out the fire. Mr.Writz was not injured but his car was judged to be a total loss.
