Downed power line burns

Firefighters stand by as a downed power line burns in the driveway of 24 Roper Lane in Princeton Township on Wednesday afternoon. The line burned for more than 30 minutes, emitting flames more than 8 feet high and heavy smoke before PSE&G workers were able to shut off the power. The heat from the burning wire left two 5-foot-long, 1-foot-deep trenches in the driveway, Princeton Township police said. They were unable to determine why the line fell.
