Police Officer Salutes Search Party Volunteers

To the Editor, Town Topics:

I would personally like to say thank you to all the local volunteers who aided in locating two people who were reported missing Thursday and Friday in Princeton.

A request for assistance in the search was made to the Princeton Fire Department and Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad and the response was overwhelming. With their help, both people were located.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the First Aid Squad came t the staging areas to supply food and drink to tired, wet and cold volunteers who had given up their personal time on Thursday evening, Friday evening and Saturday morning.

There are no practice drills we perform where groups of volunteers interact with each other for these types of situations, but nevertheless we all worked together as one large unit.

I have been a police officer in Princeton Township for 28 years and cannot remember having two such incidents back-to-back which required such giving as I witnessed this past week. Princeton resider. is certainly should be grateful that we have such wonderful volunteers.

To all the volunteers, I salute you.

LT. MARIO A. MUSSO
