Princeton Fire Department picks new chief

Rob Toole, chief of Princeton Hook and Ladder Company, will succeed Benjamin “Roz” Warren as the chief of the Princeton Fire Department on Jan. 1.

The Princeton Borough Council confirmed the selection Tuesday night. Mr. Toole was elected chief by members of the department on Dec. 6.

Dave Bogle, chief of Mercer Engine Co. 3, was elected deputy chief and Rick McKee, the newly elected chief of Engine Co. 1, was elected assistant chief.

Traditionally, the chief’s position is rotated annually among the chiefs of the three Princeton fire companies, Mr. Toole said.

Mr. Toole, who has been with the department 15 years, was deputy chief in 1994 and served as assistant chief in 1993. A Princeton Town-ship police officer, Mr. Took lives in Lawrenceville.

He says he would like to expand the department’s current training program and improve its radio and siren systems.

Mr. Bogle, of Quarry Lane, Princeton Township, has been with the department 12 years. He served as assistant chief in 1994 and is entering his second year as company chief.
