Rescuers search lake for woman

PRINCETON TOWNSHIP — A large-scale rescue effort was mounted late last night following a report that a woman had plunged off the Washington Road Bridge into Lake Carnegie.

Fire and EMT personnel from the township and West Windsor staged near the south end of the bridge about 11:30 p.m. and began to search the dark water. A second staging area was established near the Harrison Street Bridge.

A witness said she had seen a woman wearing a sleeveless black dress get out of her car, stand on the bridge rail and take “a swan dive” into the lake.
