Short Circuit Is Blamed For Medical Fire Alarm

At 11:13 on Friday night, Township police received a report of a fire inside the Surgical Center building in the Princeton Medical Center, 281 Witherspoon Street.

When ten volunteer firemen arrived in two trucks, they found smoke present and detected a strong odor of burnt wire — but no fire. It was later determined by an electrician that a short circuit in the building’s transformer had caused the wiring to smoke and heat up.
