FIRE ON PROSPECTIVE.
Electric Blanket Blamed. A folded electric blanket which was left on is being blamed for a fire last week in a home at 720, Prospect Avenue. A general alarm was sounded at 1:35.

All of the occupants escaped injury, police said, but a dachshund, which had suffered smoke inhalation and was almost unconscious, had to be rescued by a fireman. Police report damage to the bedroom where the fire originated and extensive smoke and water damage.

BUS, CAR MEET HEAD ON.
On Route 296. A Mercer Metro bus and a 1980 sedan collided head on Monday night on Route 206 south near Edgerstoune Road.

The driver of the car, which was a total loss, was pinned inside and had to be removed by the Princeton Rescue Squad with the aid of a Jaws Of Life machine. The victim, 18-year old Joseph T. Delorefice of Upper Darby, Pa., was taken by the First Aid Squad to Princeton
Medical Center where he was admitted for treatment of a broken leg and lacerations of the face.


The driver of the bus, Robert A. Brooks, 38, of Trenton, and the eight to ten passengers aboard were not injured.

Ptl. Peter Savalli, who is investigating the accident, reported that it had not yet been determined what caused the two vehicles to meet in the same lane. The roads were clear, he said, at the time of the mishap – 10:33 p.m. No summonses have been issued, pending the completion of his investigation.
