Van Engulfed in Flames; A Total Loss Say Police

Borough police describe a 1987 Ford van as a total loss, after it caught fire last week while parked behind Dial Lodge on Prospect Avenue.

Police in responding to a 7:50 call Friday night found the van “fully engulfed” in flames, and it took 20 minutes before they, and members of the fire department, were able to put out the fire. The owner told police that prior to the fire he had smelled an odor of gas coming from the engine compartment.
