NEW FIRE CHIEF:

Terrance Davidson, a member of Hook and Ladder for 13 years, is Princeton’s 1984 Fire Chief. Under present procedures, a new chief is installed every New Year’s Day. Chief Davidson, who grew up in Princeton and was graduated from Princeton High, is the son of the late Samuel G. Davidson who was Chief In 1963. His grandfather, Samuel G. Davidson Sr., and three uncles — Robert, Francis and Russell Davidson — were all members of Princeton Engine Company Number One. A resident of Hamilton Square since 1980, the new chief says residence out of town has not been a problem — “I can get here in 10 to 15 minutes at night.” Six days a week, he is in town, working at Princeton University where he is a plumber in the maintenance department.
