Car Fire

While Harry M. Tinsman of Trenton was driving on Cherry Hill Road early Friday afternoon, his car ran out of gas. After getting some gas, he raised the hood of his cap and tried to remove the gas filter, spilling, police said, gas on the still hot engine in the process.

The gas ignited and caused some damage to the engine compartment and hood of Mr. Tinsman’s 1978 sedan. Sgt. Musso, the Township’s traffic safety officer, responded and put out the blaze with his patrol car extinguisher.
